RECRUITMENT PROCESS
Thank you for considering our Volunteer Program. As of November 2025, we utilize a competitive process for recruitment of Volunteer Firefighter and EMT positions. We employ a winter process and a summer process. The next test date is tentatively scheduled for January 25th, 2026. If you complete the boxes above and click submit, you will be entered into our system. Having your NREMT or Washington State EMT certification is required for consideration to the winter recruitment process. The test date will involve a written test, EMS skills assessment, and oral board. Successful candidates will then move to background checks.
The summer process will be a similar process as described above. The date has not been set yet, but will occur prior to the beginning of Fire Academy in August (likely in early June). Having your EMT certification is desirable for Fire Academy, but is not mandatory.
We will update more as the program is refined.
