PUBLIC NOTICE: Live-Burn Exercise

LOCATION: 8633 Eastside Drive | Tacoma, WA 98422

INFORMATION: On Sunday, April 28th Pierce County Fire District 13 will be conducting a live-fire burn training exercise at the above-mentioned address. The following is a tentative time-table of the events for the day:

  • 9 AM – 7 PM: SPRING STREET CLOSURE
  • 9 AM: Set-Up
  • 10 AM: First-Burn
  • AFTERNOON: Two LARGE burns
  • 6 PM – 7 PM: Clean-up

The purpose of the live-fire training is to enhance firefighter’s knowledge, skills, abilities in the area of structural firefighting. This live-fire will create a smoke condition in the area.

As part of the live-fire training exercise, Spring Street (between Dogwood & Eastside Drive will be closed from 9 AM – 7 PM. During the closure, traffic will be detoured to neighboring streets. We ask that motorists please follow their known detours.
