PCFD13 Firefighters Association Receives Tribal Grant

September 12th - The PCFD13 Firefighters Association* has received a $50,000 grant from the Charity Trust Board of the Puyallup Tribe of Indians. We are grateful for this assistance towards the purchase of new self-contained breathing apparatus (SCBA). This life-saving equipment expires in 2027 and with the recent promulgation of new NFPA standards, we must act now to accommodate manufacturer lead times and procurement processes. The Fire District is also seeking additional funding sources to help minimize the fiscal impact of such a large capital purchase.

*The PCFD13 Firefighters Association is a nonpropfit 501(c)(3) public charity operated with 100% voluntary efforts from the Volunteer Firefighters and paid staff of Pierce County Fire District 13. The Association assists the firefighters in time of need or for advanced training, community members in need, as an informational resource to the national fire service, and to support the Fire District with equipment purchases. If you are interested in learning more or to make a donation, please contact Battalion Chief Noel Fitzgerald.
