OUR SERVICES

Pierce County Fire District 13 serves the communities of Browns Point and Dash Point in Pierce County, Washington. Located Northeast of Tacoma and Southeast of Federal Way, District 13 covers around five square miles of land and extends half way into Commencement Bay.

We have two stations, one in Browns Point and one in Dash Point. Our headquarters station is staffed twenty-four hours a day seven days a week by our volunteers. We have around 40 volunteer personnel and two paid staff, who are a combination of Washington State EMTs and certified firefighters. District 13 has several different types of apparatus capable of responding to almost any emergency incident possible in the area. We have two fire engines, one aid car, two battalion units, one rescue truck with trailer and two jet skis, one support car, and one brush truck.

Our call volume varies with around 77% EMS calls, 6.6% fire call, 3% motor vehicle accidents and 8.8% rescue/other/service calls. We run mutual aid calls with Tacoma Fire, South King Fire & Rescue, and Riverside Fire Department and also use the services of American Medical Response, Falck, and Airlift Northwest.

ADDITIONAL SERVICES

BLOOD PRESSURE CHECKS

Free checks | appointments highly recommended

To schedule a free blood pressure check in your home or at one of our two stations please call us. We will be happy to assist you and our doctor in the monitoring of your blood pressure. If you ring the doorbell and we don’t answer the door we are likely out on an emergency call or in a training class. We recommend calling us to schedule an appointment.

Why should you know your blood pressure? Blood pressure is not a single set of numbers that always stay the same. Rather, your blood pressure falls within a range. Blood pressure of less than 120 over 80 is considered to be normal. Check with your physician to find out what is too high or too low for you.

HOUSE REFLECTIVE ADDRESS SIGN

Cost: $15

In an emergency, police, fire and rescue workers depend on house numbers to find YOU as quickly as possible. Finding your home - especially at night - can be challenging if address numbers are unreadable, hidden, unlighted or have missing numbers and may delay emergency responders from getting to you as quickly as possible.

Are your house numbers visible from the street? Are they set on a background of contrasting color? If your house is hidden from the street, are your numbers attached to a visible fence, mailbox or gate? Is your mobile home identified with your house number? If you live on a corner, does your house number face the street named in your address?

If you answered 'no' to any of these questions please contact us to schedule a consultation.
