Wildland Fire Unit
The PCFD 13 Wildland Firefighting Unit is a 13 member unit that fights wildfires statewide. The unit stands ready to mobilize within 20 minutes to any wildfire. The past few years, the unit was mobilized to fight the Dishman Hills Fire in Spokane and the XXX Fire in Wenatchee, Lake Chelan Fire, the Eells Fire in Mason County, and the Oden Road Fire in Okanogan County. This year the unit was deployed to the Hubbard Fire in Dayton.
The Unit trains annually with Fort Lewis Fire Department and its members are red-card certified. The Unit deploys Engine 76 for Type 1 mobilizations and Brush 76 for Type 6 mobilizations.
